Cartoning Solutions delivered to Pastilles Manufacturer

Senzani Brevetti, a long-established manufacturer of packaging machinery, continues to support the confectionery industry with specialised equipment and custom-built solutions. Among recent projects, Senzani partnered with Pastiglie Leone, a longstanding Italian confectionery producer founded in 1857, that owns the best-known pastilles brand in Italy.

Senzani is represented by E&B in the UK and Ireland, the Italian company provides machinery for primary and secondary packaging, palletising, and complete end-of-line systems.

With more than 70 years of experience and over 2,200 machines installed worldwide, Senzani has worked with leading global brands across food, consumer goods, and personal care. Its expertise is particularly well-suited to the confectionery sector, where the variety of products and packaging formats calls for adaptable, high-performance machinery.

Senzani was chosen as supplier for Pastiglie Leone’s new pastilles packaging line, providing the company with one of its customised vertical cartoning solutions running at up to 160 cartons per minute. The VCMK10 specially designed for Pastiglie Leone fills loose candies into completely redesigned cartons that are  pocket-sized, resealable, and easy-to-open. Enabling this well-known brand to continue to offer distinctive packaging for its confectionery.

“For a company, changing its iconic packaging is undoubtedly a big step, and we were happy to work with Pastiglie Leone on this project” said Adele Rava, Sales Director of Senzani. “The final solution supports both production efficiency and the brand’s visual identity. It’s a good example of how machine design and marketing goals can align.”

Senzani’s broader offering for confectionery includes vertical, horizontal, and top-load cartoning machines capable of working with loose items, sachets, bags, doypacks, and pouches. In the secondary packaging segment, their equipment includes case packers for RSC and wrap-around formats, all designed for flexibility, quick format changes, and compact footprints. The company also supplies palletising solutions and systems for loading consumables.

An area of ongoing innovation for Senzani is sustainable packaging. Their patented U-Seal technology is a notable example—allowing manufacturers to create fully recyclable, cold-sealed cardboard packs from flat blanks. The technology supports complex and distinctive carton shapes while reducing warehouse and transport inefficiencies, and increasing safety for operators during maintenance or downtime.

Working closely with Engelmann & Buckham, Senzani ensures that customers have access to local consultation and support, helping manufacturers adopt packaging solutions that fit their specific production goals and constraints.

As product formats and sustainability requirements evolve, Senzani continues to focus on developing adaptable, efficient, and safe machinery for producers worldwide.
