Drum filling machine FAQs

Should I choose a semi-automatic or fully automatic drum filling machine?

A semi-automatic AiCROV system needs an operator to position the container and start the cycle, which suits lower-volume production where labour availability is not the main constraint. A fully automatic dual-station machine feeds, fills, weighs and discharges containers without operator intervention, which suits higher-throughput production where consistency and uptime matter.

Can a drum filling machine handle hazardous or flammable products?

Yes. AiCROV offers an ATEX-rated version of the semi-automatic drum filling machine for flammable solvents, fuels and other hazardous products. An immersion-filling version is also available where the fill needs to be made below the surface to reduce foaming or evaporation. Tell us the zone classification when you enquire and we will match the right specification.

What range of container sizes can be filled across the AiCROV range?

1 to 1,500 litres in total. Semi-automatic systems cover 20 to 1,500 kg capacity containers on a pallet. Fully automatic dual-station machines handle 5 to 250 litre plastic and metallic drums. Robot fillers accommodate 2 to 1,500 litre containers including IBCs, jerry cans, pails and barrels.

Can the drum filler handle viscous products like lubricants and paints?

Yes. The AiCROV robot filler is configured for liquid and viscous products, and the wider range covers chemicals, agro-chemicals, lubricants, paints and coatings, personal care and food and beverage applications.

Do you install and service drum filling machines in the UK?

Yes. Engelmann & Buckham is UK based, with engineers covering the UK and Ireland for installation, commissioning, operator training, servicing, breakdown response and spares. Service runs throughout the working life of the machine.
