Capping machines for bottles, jars and tubes
Capping machines seal bottles, jars and tubes with consistent torque and a leak-proof finish. They sit at the end of most filling lines and apply the cap accurately at production speed, removing the manual handling and torque variability of hand capping.
We represent Breitner, whose capping machines accommodate a wide range of cap styles. They use mechanisms including rotary capping heads, pneumatic systems and magnetic torque control to apply each cap with consistent torque.
Capping machinery reduces manual labour and supports product integrity through the line, which is why it is in use across food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and chemicals production.

High specification capping machinery
Breitner capping machines are in use across food packaging, cosmetics, chemicals and pharmaceuticals.
The Breitner range covers single station and high speed rotary capping machines, designed and manufactured to meet European directives and the highest German manufacturing standards. The machines deliver long working life, low maintenance, fast set-up and energy-efficient operation.
Each capping machine has a wide range of standard options, including diagnostic interface, ATEX compliance, fume extraction, nitrogen injection.
Engelmann & Buckham supplies Breitner capping machines across the UK and Ireland, with installation, training, spares and after-sales service handled by our engineers from Alton, Hampshire.

Capping machine FAQs
Should I choose a rotary capping machine or a single station capper?
Single station capping machines cap one container at a time and suit lower-speed lines and varied cap styles. High-speed rotary capping machines move containers continuously through multiple capping heads, which gives much higher throughput on stable cap formats. Breitner supplies both and we can advise on the right format based on your line speed and cap variety.
Can your capping machines handle different cap styles?
Yes. Breitner capping machines accommodate a wide range of cap styles for bottles, jars and tubes across the food, beverage, cosmetic, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors. The mechanism (rotary, pneumatic or magnetic torque) is matched to the cap style and line speed at the specification stage.
What is magnetic torque capping and when do I need it?
Magnetic torque capping uses a magnetic clutch to apply each cap with consistent torque, which prevents over-tightening and gives very tight torque control. It is widely used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic production where cap integrity, child-resistance or tamper-evidence has to be reliably maintained.
Are the capping machines available with ATEX compliance?
Yes. ATEX compliance is one of the standard options across the Breitner range, alongside diagnostic interface, fume extraction and nitrogen injection. Specify the zone classification and the product being capped when you enquire.
Can the capping machine be integrated with my filling line?
Yes. Capping machines normally run straight after a liquid filling machine on the same line. Breitner supplies single-station and high-speed rotary capping machines that meet European directives and German manufacturing standards, with options for integration with upstream filling and downstream packing equipment.
