Welcome to the first edition of our quarterly newsletter. We’ve always got a lot going on and thought it was time to share some of our news with our customers across the UK and Ireland.
On the 22nd May 2017 Engelmann & Buckham Ltd (E&B) installed a new C.P. Bourg BB3002 Perfect Binder at Marston Book Services Ltd in Didcot, one of the publishing industry’s leading distributors.
The new binder is the second C.P. Bourg Perfect Binder they have purchased and the decision to buy came after an increase in workload at Marston and a growth in demand for binding. They already handle a huge cross-section of books, journals and electronic products and it is vital that they continue to maintain the quality and quantity of their products.
Daniel Rainbird, sales executive, E&B, has worked closely with Marston to install the machine, “We are pleased to have been able to supply a new C.P. Bourg machine to Marston. They have a fast moving business with a top quality output. The new binder will allow them to increase capacity and continue their reliable service to their customers.”
Integra Lifting Belt
Newly developed and manufactured in the UK by our highly-trained E&B engineers this unique lifting belt has been specifically designed to lift the product, including a single page carrier sheet, off the main drive conveyor of the main transport such as a wrapping or envelope enclosing line. The product can then be precisely controlled for inkjet printing, before smoothly transitioning back on to the main feed table for either naked mailing or polywrapping.
Success at Interpack 2017
Our feet have barely touched the ground since Interpack and our principals have all reported a successful show. We were there representing Apsol, Betti, Breitner, Gabler, INVPACK, Pattyn, RONO, Sema systemtechnik and Volpak.
Michael Lindsay, managing director, E&B was delighted that Interpack was so well attended, “It was great to be able to meet with so many of our principals and customers, to forge new partnerships and consolidate existing ones. The event was invaluable to our business.”
Did you know we are now supplying our own range of inks? Integra inks have been specifically formulated to offer high performance on a variety of substrates. We have analysed decap and throw distance against quality to optimise the performance of our inks. Our customers see the benefits with exceptional print quality, strong adhesion and fast drying times. The inks are able to produce a strong, clear and contrasting image, whilst offering longevity of the cartridge, making them a cost effective option.
Keeping up with Lesley
Lesley Hill, one of our after sales team is busy raising money for the NSPCC. She will be walking the 100km South Coast Challenge. Picon have very generously just donated £500 to this cause, which has given her a huge boost. Lesley has updated us on her training, “I have been busy training all year and am now stepping up the anti as I go into the last 3 month period before the big event during the August bank holiday. Two weekends ago, my husband and I travelled down to Eastbourne so that I could tackle the Seven Sisters as they were worrying me a bit but my confidence has been boosted.” Any donations are welcome for this cause, visit: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Lesley-Hill2
